FREE Book Giveaway & Guest Post from Allison Finley

Easter Giveaway

Happy Easter week friends! Today my friend Allison Finley from Divinely Beautiful Ministries is guest posting about the pursuit of real and lasting beauty. At the end of her post, we are giving away a FREE signed copy of her new book, Divinely Beautiful. We are praying that your identity would come from the Words of God instead of the words of the world.

Love, “You’re not skinny enough.” “You’re not tall enough.” “You’re not curvy enough.” This culture is always setting a standard for women to reach. Once we feel we have finally reached the finish line, the goal moves again. If we fall into this trap, we will always be chasing a goal that is forever changing. We could strive all day, and when we put our heads on the pillow we would still be full of self-doubt and insecurity. Ladies, this is a trick from the enemy.

The enemy wants to steal, kill, and destroy our identities and callings in Christ. He will do anything to prevent us from living in truth. Satan will use reality television, social media posts, song lyrics, and current trends to keep us from realizing who we are as women of God. When we become distracted, we spend our time fighting against ourselves and lose sight of the real fight we were called to.

This all came to the light when the Lord spoke this truth to me: We were never designed to fight for beauty. We were designed to receive beauty. (Tweet this!)

God is the Creator of beauty. In fact, everything He says and does is beautiful. We were never designed to find our beauty in makeup aisles and photo-shoots. We were designed to find our beauty in His presence.

In His presence, we taste and see TRUE beauty. This true beauty radiates love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23). I love what King David wrote in Psalm 27:4, he said,

“One thing I ask from the Lord, this only do I seek; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the Lord and to seek him in his temple.”

We serve a beautiful triune God. The Father is beautiful; the Son is beautiful; and the Holy Spirit is beautiful. As daughters of the King, we have an opportunity to embrace the beauty of the Trinity. We have the honor of knowing each Person of the Trinity and understanding the distinct beauty each represents. Our hearts can find rest and belonging in the ultimate Father. Our lives can be saved and transformed through the Savior, Jesus Christ. Our lives can be empowered and encouraged by the goodness of the Holy Spirit.

When we enter into relationship with God, we begin to reflect His beauty. He teaches us how to love like Him, talk like Him, and represent Him on this earth. That is lasting beauty. Divine beauty does not change or ask you to compromise your values. God’s beauty empowers you to fulfill your mission in life. His beauty brings peace to your heart as you walk hand-in-hand with Him. His beauty also unites you with other women. Instead of competing against each other, women full of His beauty are equipped to fight together, and not against one another.

Discovering and reflecting His beauty is the greatest journey life has to offer. It’s a journey full of twist and turns, but my friend, it’s well worth it. If you would like to learn more about His beauty and develop a closer walk with Him, you can grab your own copy of Divinely Beautiful: Experiencing the Power of His Beauty. He has called you to a beautiful relationship with Himself and let’s take every opportunity to grow in Him.

In Him,
Allison Finley

I’ve really enjoyed reading None Like Him with some of my students 🙂 The only thing I don’t love about it is how the cover is flowery and stuff because the content is not “girly,” it’s thought-provoking for men and women!
